I'd like to look at aquascaping done on those 30x30 or 36x36 cube tanks. If you have pics or a link to a build thread I'd love to see them.
Thanks all.

Wow, thanks you two. jflip2002 that's beautiful! Can I ask how your overflow was done?
Do you have a build thread Jflip2002?
And afex, wow, ditto. Thanks for the link to your build thread. I love your tang he's so cute!
Are there anymore reef people with 30x30 or 36x36 tanks?
Thanks so much.

My overflow as far as the construction? It was just a plain old overflow located in the center, that I foamed over, along with the rest of the back wall.

And thanks for the compliments... I like where its heading, but its pretty dang empty, lol.

Oh okay, it's covered with the foam. I love that. I like the aquascaping you did with the rocks too.
Can I ask, what's that bright green coral on the bottom right near the sand?
Thanks.

I am still working on mine, but here is a pic from a couple of weeks ago.

It is a 30x30x15 rimless, but I put a canopy on it so you cannot really tell.

Oh I'm loving that tank Entropy. Thanks for responding, and especially with that photo. Such a great looking tank.
GoBig, You too? :) If I won the lottery, or if pigs start flying, I would like to keep a 30"W x 30"L tank. But I would possibly want a shallower tank. I'm only 5"4 or so so I was looking into tanks which are in the 18"-22" high range. My former (sw fish only) tank was 24" high if I'm not mistaken, and it was hard to get to the back to clean the glass and perform those kinds of tasks.
But I don't know what it is with me, the 24"x24" wouldn't give me enough room in my mind, and yet the 36x36 seems so giant of a tank. I don't know what those extra 6 inches of width are doing but they make it a huge scary tank, as opposed to something I could probably handle without going completely nuts.
I would like (hopefully at some point) to be able to keep LPS, as my interest always gravitates to LPS around here on RC. So in keeping any LPS I would like some adequate "sand space" for them. Since the lps that I would like to keep can get quite large (hopefully), the 30"x30" seems to be a good choice for "sand real estate". :)

i would go for a 36 x 36 x 20 if you have the space. i need the extra inches. its easier to get a 3ft lighting. :)

Yeah, I'm just lookin for extra gallonage, really. That's why I want the taller tank, not to mention you can easily keep high light and low light corals in a single tank with that kind of depth. However, I might end up going with a 36x36x16" and just use a single halide pendant over the tank to achieve the same effect with some nice contrasts.. Either way, I really like a tank that is aesthetically pleasing from all sides, not to mention something with some real width for aquascaping, and I think a 30x30 or 36x36 is the way to do that and still be on a budget.

Zorden, True about lighting that's for sure. That's the one area where my mind changes back and forth.
GoBig, I was also thinking about the pendant being the way to go.
More interestingly I saw a thread here and I can't for the life of me find it (arrggh). In the thread the guy was adding a couple of vho bulbs by wiring them in via his lumenarc so that the bulbs were part of the reflector. It was really cool. I was wondering if someone made those additions to lumenarcs or if someone around here does make those retros and sell them. That way there would be some real dawn to dusk viewing.
What do you want to go with bulbs-wise, a 400w?
