How well does this skimmer perform? Since all the cones are the same body and handle the larger air intake w/ the other pump configurations, does this skimmer perform well w/ just 1 pump?

We shall soon know...I pulled one of the pumps off of the 2S and meshed the remaining pump today. It is going through a small break-in with the new mesh, but I hope to go in tomorrow and find a nice thick foam head :)

any word on the 1s? is it as good as the 250?

I ran the 1S for about a week, but it is just not enough skimmer to handle our 1000g SPS prop system, so I went back to dual Sicce's for the health of the system.

It skimmed well, but was not outperforming the 250....not by much though. The 1S was removing roughly 15% less skimate than a 250.
