I have noticed that several of my zoanthid frags have disappeared. This is after the frags were placed in my tank and new polyps started to grow then they go away after a while. I will be changing tanks in a few months. What should I dip the zoanthids in and do I need to do anything to the live rock?

Fish are chevron tang, royal gramma, flame angel, coral beauty, 2 black & white clowns, 2 clarkii clowns, PJ cardinal. Inverts are a yellow cucumber, 1 hermit crab, a few mexican turbo snails, some other misc snails.

I have not put anything new into the tank until after I notice the zoanthids going away.

A couple that alarm me there would be the

CHEVRON, FLame and coral beauty ( the last 2 are quite known NIPPERS ) but certain tangs are know to demolish colonies in no time. Like HIppo tangs, fox face 's etc....

See other threads here, I've posted a youtube video of a tang just eating them like popcorn. ( not my vid )

They don't do it most of the time in front of you but sometimes can be viewed in another room or videotaped.

I planned on removing the flame and coral beauty when I move the tank but thought that I had some kind of spider or worm eating them.

Turbo snails can knock them off behind rocks. Did the whole colony disappear or just the polyps? I've had a few get knocked behind stuff for some time before I was able to find them.

It was polyps that were on two different pieces of live rock.

Those sundials are zoa assasins, so are zoa spiders and ENUCID worms/fire worms.

I have never seen that snail in my tank, I have a few astrea, nass. and ceriths. Is there a dip that I can dip my live rock in that will get rid of spider or worms and not kill the good stuff on the rock?

Nope, it'll kill all beneficial bacteria and small animals in your tank.

Only think I could say is INTERCEPTOR tablets. I though kills pretty much all invertebrates in your tank. People use this treatement for red bugs. I use it to kill bad ampipods. Not the best route but it works. ( NOT RECOMMENDED ).

Best thing I can suggest is nightly spot checking with a red light.
