hey guys, names alex. I just came across a 46 gallon glass tank for free with an iron stand and decided to go for the reef experience!
bought the marine aquarium for dummies book and now this. No idea where to begin!

Eventually would like to make my own L-shaped tank that wraps around a corner of my place.

one danger you have with a used tank is you do not know if medication were ever used in it if copper was used to treat the tank it could cause big problems down the road fill tank test for leaks let sit with salt water and get copper test kit

Aquarium for dummies has a lot of good info in it but some is out dated. I read it when I started 5 years ago and some of it was out dated then. This is a good place to read up on newer ideas and ask lots of questions. Every one seems to be very helpful.
