Do shrimp normally moult? I found a shell in me tank and was wanting to make sure it wasnt from somthing being wrong in my tank.

Yes, they do, it's the only way they can grow. Of the hundreds of "My shrimp died" or "My hermit crab died" posts 99.9% them are just a molt.

I remember the first time I saw a coral banded shrimp molt floating around the tank, immediately running to RC convinved my first critter had kicked the bucket ;-)

How often does it happen?

Depending on your water conditions its not unlikely for it to happen once or twice a month
