stupid question about silicone curing

so, its been 24 hours since I applied the silicone in my new sump...the package says to wait 48 until adding water, but I thought it was fully cured after 24, generally speaking... Its just some simple perfecto aquarium sealant...

I'm just nervous cause I have the wrong silicone in there right now and I want to get it out ASAP....
