I ordered a 2s cone for a system I am setting up over the next 6 months, it will eventually be close to 500 gallons, but now it's more like 80! I guess I want to tell people more about it since there isn't that much information.

I ordered it on a Monday and it made it across the country for Thursday, i even ordered it at like 1:30 and they held the fedex truck to get mine on ;)

The packaging was really good, I like that it was basically impossible to break. The styrofoam did stick to things a little due to static, but what can you do.

Assembly was easy and took about 5 minutes tops. I ran it in vinegar and SW for 8 hours then rinsed it off and threw it in the tank. I left it run overnight and it was creating fairly large bubbles which over 24 hours or so got better until it was overflowing constantly! SO i made a stand and put it in the right depth of water, and then it worked quite nicely, they really do need to be in 8-10 inches of water though it wont work in much deeper then 11 I don't think as you cant open the gate enough.

I had two problems, when I got it the pumps were kind of loud so after giving them about 48 hours to get better I took them apart and put them back together again and then so far they have been quiet. I didn't even take them all the way apart, just took the impeller housing off the main body and rinsed it out and put it back in pretty tightly, seemed to get the noise down so that its not much different in volume then the sucking air. The other is that the stock air line tubing is too pliable and too short. It would be better if it was 2" longer because as it is now it is easy to break it with just a little turning the output valve... Mine is pulled pretty tight now and I am sure I am getting air flow restrictions because of it.

I haven't quite got it perfectly dialed in yet, but I'm not getting any thick ski mate yet, it does have a nice 4" or so head of very low density foam that kind of jumps up and down, but the tank isn't really that heavy of a bioload so I don't think that it has too much to do now.

Rob/Jeff: It never included a Block for the second pump port so I am running two pumps on it now and I REALLY don't think I need to. If you read this before I call you can you please send me a cap? And since you're at it can I please have a replacement air line? Preferably 2-3in longer?

Pictures will follow as soon as it makes something darker, right now all you'd be looking at is green tea :p Maybe Ill throw some extra food in there fr a few days. I'm sure my puffer will enjoy it!
