Cleaning the Rocks

I only blast the rocks when I do a water change so I know I have extracted most of the detritus. But now that I have a well-stocked sump, ie good skimmer, phosban reactor, and a bed filter with nitrate media, can I just blast them periodically and let the sump do the cleaning?

You will see a decline over time but I try make this a part of my weekly maintenance procedure. It only takes a few minutes and does a lot to keep things tidy.

I can never siphon out all the debris. I only do about a 10g water change and can fill up a bucket in less then a minute while siphoning. Whatever I can't siphon I depend on my skimmer to soak up.
