I have had my Volitan Lionfish since September. He is about 5 inches long.
He has eaten frozen food since the day I got him. He has always been very interested in food. Last week he stopped eating. He will watch the food float around the tank and fall to the bottom. He will open his mouth and stalk it on the bottom but gets board and leaves it.
He was eating krill, baby silversides, and assorted small pieces of fish.
I tried feeding him krill and silversides on a stick whille making a swimming motion but he seems uninterested.
Any suggestions?
Should I try live food? feeder fish or feeder shrimp?

They can go on hunger strikes from what I have read before. Id give it a few more days before live food. It may be hard to get him to switch back over

Have you checked your tank parameters? Temp? Nitrates? Salinity? pH? Ammonia? Things like that can put fish on hunger strikes.

I wouldn't worry much yet unless it starts getting skinny.

I had a lion go on a 6 weeks strike once. He is over 10 inches now. It is just their style try some live damsels or ghost shrimp. Sometimes I believe Lions just need to stalk their prey occasionally. Makes them happier and healthy in some ways
