I got 2 baby clowns a few years ago. I've had to replace one male that decided to allow my cat to catch him.
Question is, now I'm seeing a lot of people with 3 clowns in a tank?? What gives? I thought if you had a pair, the third would be tortured by the pair until it was dead? Or is it doable in a large enough tank?

I'd say in most cases, the third clown will die eventually. It's not worth it.

In captivity, clowns are best kept as pairs. In large tanks, multiple pairs can be kept. Clowns after 2 have recorded short and unhappy lives in captivity.

This is all what I thought. I wasn't planning on doing it, but I kept seeing it done, so I was confuzzled.
