cleaning the extreme 200?

how often should I clean the entire extreme 200 skimmer? its been running for only 4 months now.

I don't recommend cleaning the body at all. If anything siphon out any settle particles out of the skimmer body. The pump should be cleaned regularly to prevent degradation to performance and life of the pump.
