YWG.. not so .. yellow?

Hey guys here's a good question.

I have a, well, I assume them to be a mated pair of YWG that have been in my tank for almost 2 years. They live in a cave with a shrimp.

Lately one goby has been turning colors. The bottom sucking fin is turning blue as well as the anal fin. Overall the goby appears tinted green like theres a slight blue overshadowing of it. The lines the gobies have are also more prevalent.

I haven't changed anything in the tank, haven't changed feeding - mysis + some greens, is it possible its a type of mild sexual dimorphism if they are breeding in the cave?

I wish I could remember who had a spawning pair of those, but I do remember that in the pictures ones of them wasn't yellow. I want to say it was more of a grayish color. From my understanding/memory that was normal --- though I can't remember if that was due to age, or the fact that they were a mated pair.

i have 5 in my tank. two which are pairs and a loner. they were all yellow now i only see one yellow one. one pair is actually changed colors both of them so i would love to hear the answer t this as well.

Wow I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one! The one in my tank I would also say gray is maybe the better color. He/she is looking more like the generic or blue watchman gobies I've seen come into stores. Gray or a blue hue. I wonder if they aren't technically one in the same?

sorry to butt in but whats ywg stand for?? :P Yellow watchmen goby??? If thats the case, I have a pair but they are still both yellow, the anal fin on both of them has a very small blue ridge if you will. I have not had any indication that they are spawning though, just hang out in the same hole/cave. BTW how can you tell which one is male and female? There is one that is larger than the other, is that the female?
