diamond goby

my friend recently bought a orange diamond spotted goby in a new tank he is doing well and has created a couple of homes under the rock work only concern I have and have talked to him about is food he is siffting the sand looking for food which is not present
what can I tell him to do to keep this fish from starving any food he will accept
doesn't seem to like flake

Mine eats about anything. Flakes, Formula one pellets, and frozen foods. I like to provide a variety.

These fish are masterful jumpers, so please advise your friend to fully cover his tank with something besides egg crate.
