I have a 8 gal tank that I am drilling for a sump and cant decide between 1/2 or 3/4 for the overflows holes, I am gonna drill 2. the returns are already drilled for 1/2. what do u guys think?

If you already have 1/2", I'd stick with that size. Makes everything easier

Second the 1/2.

It's a good size for that tank size. You don't need to push alot of gph.
