Can anyone tell me why its so hard to find aussie SPS. I know that coral exports are strictly regulated, but its seems that LPS exports are uncommon, but usually a place may get a few shipments a year. I can understand not wanting to ship out large colonies, but this would be a good situation for getting small wild frags, growing out for a little bit and shipping.

Its my understanding that the LPS is a little more tolerant of shipping conditions while SPS doesn't handle the journey so well. Add to that the nature of "wild caught" SPS colonies and the odds are stacked against it for making the trip, much less thriving in a captive reef pre or post shipping.

Someone posted in the past few days about some Aussie SPS orders arriving with the majority of them being DOA or near DOA.
My local LFS has tried to order some SPS with its LPS Aussie stuff and had only one Stylaster show up. The story didn't end well. Otherwise, the supplier has not sent any at all.
