I recently purchased a used RO unit and it was in need of all new filters/membrane. I was told by several people i need to run water through the system with the new membrane. No problem, but my question is i have been told different amounts of time to let the water run. I have been told 4-5 hours before i start collecting water and i have also been told that an hour would be plenty of time, so I am looking for some advice as to what will work, if an hour is good i would rather do that, any help is great, Thanks

Mine has instructions to waste the first 3 to 5 gallons after a filter change. So that's an 1 hour to 1.5 with my 75 GPD system.

Agreed with the 3-5 gallons. That is what mine said also.

install the prefilter and carbon and then flush for about 15-20 minutes then install the membrane and di resin and throw away the first 5 gallons it makes. the 5 gallons could take about an hour depending upon the pressure you're running at.

The Specture manual states to let 2 gal. of product water flow before collecting water. Also let the unit run for at least 10 min. if it has not been used for more than a few days. (Stale water)
