I like LPS better. Some sway with the water flow and others have cool shapes...like bubble coral. I do keep both though.

I have both. LPS are a bit easier and less tempermental. Both can be fulfilling.

Im swaying towards lps as the colours are great and i like seeing them sway in the current.Do they need high or med flow(lps)?

For me, LPS and same as above really, I like the way they sway and the fact that LPS are a little more forgiving than SPS corals.

Sps for sure

LPS more by necessity than appearance, because I struggle for pristine water conditions.

I like them both... but... LPS are LOTS more forgiving, both in terms of survival and holding color.

No option for both in the poll?

Well, if I could only have one, SPS without a doubt.

The colors, the growth, the challenge.

SPS all the way...IMO they are much more rewarding to see thriving and growing...I guess it's the challenge to keep perfect water quality that they need

I love SPS. I am growing them in a 10g right now and they are doing well.

There is something about knowing that you have the VERY animal in your tank that has contributed to the building of our world's great reefs.

SPS are just plain cool and easy to propagate if you have sufficient conditions. I grow acropora 10X easier than I can grow grass in my lawn ;) (would be a different story if I gave a rip about how my lawn looked).

That being said, I have a quickly-multiplying duncan (went from 1 head to 8 in 4 months!) and a fungia fralinae that I picked up two months ago as a piece of "rubble" in a frag tank that is now the size of a quarter, and growing very, very happily.

I love'em both. Prefer SPS.

I had to go with sps. I just love the different growth forms and intense color variations.

I voted SPS. But have and like both SPS and LPS. If I had one choice I'd go SPS.

LPS for the most part. SPS just looks like colored rock to me:)

Why not both?

I'm into SPS, but really have taken a liking to Chalices and Acans. So I'm going SPS on the rocks, LPS on the sand.

Best of both worlds.

I used to have an SPS dominated tank, and I loved it. It was very cool to inspect the tank and be able to tell when your peice has grown like a mm in the last couple of days. and the colors and polyp extension are such a challenge.

Then I had children, so now I have LPS.

I started with a smaller tank with more LPS. It looks great (and I think my wife likes it more because more of it moves). I now have a 2nd tank that is SPS. Now I like the SPS more.

The main negative with LPS is that with feeder tentacles it is more common to have two corals come into contact. I have lost parts of corals 2-3 times in the LPS tank and once even a whole piece due to contact.

Definitely LPS and softies too. I like the movement and ease of keeping them. SPS are just expensive twigs IMO.

I like both, so I didn't vote.

I have an LPS dominated tank, and a seperate SPS dominated tank.

SPS for me. If I wanted a more 'straight forward' less time consuming tank then I would be happy to go the LPS route. Only go sps if you are willing to give time and money (livestock and equipment / bills)

I like both..lps for the movement and wicked feeding tentacles...and sps for the challenge. If I had to choose, it'll be GSP.....ha....no, SPS, for the challenge.

started with all kinds but when I got to SPS it was decided from there. No worrying about stinging each other and still many colors, shapes, etc... They are very rewarding to grow

I've always been an LPS fan. I love the way they flow and move in the water, making them look even more alive.

The SPS just reminds me of cloured twigs.

I aim for all of them. Soft, Zoas, mushrooms, LPS, SPS. Each has their unique trait in my opinion.
