What is the best way to insulate a stand to reduce noise from the sump, skimmer etc.?

generally i take a heavy foam tape and tape it to the bottom of whatever is making the noise,
if that doesnt work, at walmart they have a cabinet "grip" liner which i have used quite a few times. its like 2 dollars for 10 feet X1 foot which is plenty for most decent size stands. put down 2 layers. should silence most noise, or muffle to a humm.

I use the stuff they put under vinyl siding. Its 3/4 os insulating foam. Lined the inside of my stand, haleped alot.

how big is your sump--and assuming your skimmer is in it I would caution about too much insulation--alot of oxygen exchange occurs in the sump and protein skimmer.

Can you post a picture of your sump area--there may be some other steps you can take to reduce noise.
