Jeff:

Here is a video of what my pump is doing. As you can see, when I stick my finger in the impeller it fixes the problem. It appears that air is building up within the impeller? What should I do to fix this?

Let me ponder this some more, and I'll call you tomorrow.

thanks Jeff. It did cut to about half again shortly after this vid. I pressed in on the impeller again and got no "burp" like you see in the video. Nevertheless I have repositioned the skimmer a little to make sure the pump is just not sucking too many air bubbles and losing prime. I'm starting to think that might be the problem.

Best to reach me in the evenings. Thanks for all your help.

How's the skimmer doing with the new parts?

Sorry this took so long. In taking out the pump I did notice that the venturi was a little plugged up inside the volute. Since I had it out, I did put in the new PW, and I have not had this problem since. However, I am having a problem getting it dialed in. The bubbles at the top of the neck seem too wet, and if I lower them in the neck I don't get any skimmate. Perhaps it doesn't have enough to skim?
