I am setting up a 10g tank (15"W x 12"H x 12"D) and I have the oportunity to buy a 250W giessenman nova II 12" on a good price.

Would that ligth be over kill my tank?

Thank you

Way too much light, unless you plan on hanging it like 10 feet above your tank.;)

If it's a really great deal I'd say go for it, you'll just have to put it higher up and probably add a fan to keep the temperature down.

I have had one for ten years and it works and looks like new. It has a really nice paint job and the ballast is bombproof. It does throw some heat though.

Around 40g, but only 30g of water. I have it about 10" off the water and it only rises a degree or two in the summer. Sometimes I use a little fan.

Mine is 10g I mean still in proyect,
I have the tank DIY, return, Chiller and I just bougth a Tunze 9002 nano .

The chiller I test it some days ago and works great in this nano. I hope it can keep the temparature

So I just missing the ligths. I would like to everithing, I like zoos and acans, but I like SPS too. I don´t like softies as sinularias, and mushrooms, kennia tree, xenia etc. I like really colored as the chalice etc.

I hope this ligth can make the trive.

dude go for it its no big deal if you can keep the temperature right and you can run your light for less time too because it is such a strong light.

Nice system. With the little chiller you will be fine with the Nova, you might have to adjust the height as needed. It will look very modern over that tank.

Thank you. The 250w is very tempting but I think I am going have to pass, the person dont have a paypal and is the only pway of payment I can do for now. I will have to save some $$ and buy a NOVA 150W and that will fit better the sistem. I really like to try the Radium 150W hqi on that NOVA II

I would build a little stand for that pump attached to the bulkhead... it probably doesn't weigh much and the glass is probably thick enough to carry it, but just so you don't have carck incident down the road, I would support it or add length to that vinyl tube so the pump can rest on the bottom of the tank. I just recently had a bad experience with bulkheads and cracking glass on three tanks.... Other then that it is a cool looking tank!

Thank you. Loose I already did a stan with eggcreate, Waht I would really like is to get some black acrilic to glue it on the back wall. that is all I am waiting to star to filling it up the cube.

I wil have to go a look for it tomorrow.

Thank you guys

Yeah no DE Radium option in 250W. The 150 will be perfect. Make sure you post some pics when you get it up and running.

OK cool... just didn't want what happend to me to happen to someone else.... As for the black acrylic I had a similar thought on gluing it to the overflow to hide the plumbing. A local reefer had a good idea of using earth magnets ( I think that is what they are called) to hold it in place, that way it can easily be removed for cleaning... I never made it that far since my new tank was the one which I cracked :( In any case just thought I would throw that out there for ya!

I'd start it up as soon as you can, just keep up on your water changes, especially if there is a lot of die off on the rock. The 9002 is a nice little skimmer, but it has a couple of requirements for optimum performance. The water level needs to stay constant so an ATO is in order, especially in your system where the water in the filter chamber will drop fast. The 9002 cup also likes a clean neck. I found that by cleaning the cup twice a week, I was able to maintain constant foaming. If I let it go too long the foam column would collapse. Keep the pics coming it's looking good.

Good I deas I wil try to get a ATO JBJ I had one on my frag tank and works wonders. It will help me to keep a better salinity too.

About the rock it doesn´t have a lot of die off, think on of the little opices small rothen I think it has a spongones there, but the big pices are clean, they have been sit oon water for some weeks now.

Will be posting more pics as soon as I put everithing inside this weekend.

Thank you

What do you guys think about the Sundail sistem from current?

I like the giessenman, but I like more the fact than sundail has actinics 2x32pc.

The measures are axact my nano 15"x12", my only concern is than Current I think he use magnetic ballast, and I dont know if it will fire a 150W radium. or it will?

What do you guys think abou it?
