About a year ago I bought a "dragon goby" from my lfs, no species name given. I had an ich outbreak and it died. I really enjoyed the mess that it made out of my tank (he was fun to watch) so I wanted to pick up another one. Whilst browsing around on blue zoo I noticed that there are two very similar fish: A banded sleeper goby (Amblygobius phalaena) and a bullet/dragon goby (Amblygobius semicinctus). After looking at fishbase I can't tell any HUGE differences between the two species, in one picture the banded sleeper looks like it has yellow pectoral fins. They seem to have an overlapping range and are relatively similar in size. The "dragon goby" I had was 4-4.5", I assume then that it was the banded sleeper goby?
If anyone could shed some light on the differences between the two species that'd be cool =]
