View Full Version : Waaaaaaah, All my PHs are Gone!

I've been holding on my last 5 polyps of Purple Hornets for trading. I startred with 6 & they grew to 11. Fragged off 3 2-polyp frags for trades, which left me 5. 1 disappeared, which left me 4. I had to re-glue the last 2 fregged polyps on the plug again, because they were loose & about to fly away. This morning, I looked at the 4 polyps left on the main plug & they blew away!!! The last 2 are still closed & shrinking... :( Darn, I had a really cool trade set up for them.

Yeah, I'll get over it. I'm gonna see if the trader will take Rhastas instead. I was trying to let those grow though.

I'm no dummy though... I gave 2 polyps to a friend, for "safekeeping"!

Are they still in your tank and just lost?I had that happen with my tubbs and about a year later found a nice little colony hidden under a rock about halfway up at the edge of my reef.At any rate,good luck!

Yeah, might find them again some day... The 2-polyped frag I lost 1x already in the frag tank. Drained it down totally to find them & then they came loose again. I don't think they like getting glued over & over.

You can place the fragged polyps in a strawberry/blueberry holder of sort ( Plastic basket ) put small hole'd fish net around it ( allows for water to circulate through it yet keep the loose polyps inside ) and a clear lid on top to allow for light to go through.

That is really a shame, sorry to hear about your loss. I'm sure they will turn up... they'll be in the last place you look!

Sorry to hear that. I hope they have attached somewhere else in your tank. I love finding little zoa colonies in between and on the backs of rocks then I remembered oh yeah I lost that frag 3 months ago. lol:D

VC can only do so much...

While looking for them, I found a colony of PPEs I didn't even know I had! So many things have blown away throughout the years.

Good luck finding them. Look around in all the spots where detrius usually colects in your tank. If you cant find them, use a siphon hoes and stick it into your rockwork in hopes that you can acidentaly suck them out. Fingers are crossed for ya!

thats not "reefing" thats fragging. Leave them alone and you will have better luck. Once they start to spread it is easy to get small frags sometimes they even fall off. im sure you know this but still sometimes it is good to remember ; ) that some major $$$$

Yeah... the funy thing is, I haven't fragged them for over a month. I was letting these grow out.

Yeah, I had a really great trade waiting for the frag of 2 to heal up. They were open & looking good but then I went on vacation. When I came back a lot of the zoas in that tank were looking a bit bleached, so I told the trader to wait a few weeks for them to color up again. They are still there but closed up tight & looking really tiny.

Suppressivefire and Audio you too need to hash things out on PM's. I've seen how you to some what dig at each other or just go at it. Seriously you 2 get a room. :lol: :love2:

lol no I don't have any problems with him, I think we both got in a slightly heated argument with the tyree thing, honestly its no big deal. variety is the spice of life! :bum:

I never found the 4 that blew off from the larger plug. The 2 I had reglued 3x din'tr make it. So now I have none. :(
