I recently got a Lemon Peel Mimic Tang, and he's been doing great... eating well on both seaweed, and a mixture of frozen Mysis and some various flake food. He's in a 90 gal. All the water parameters check out perfectly. He ate great last night & then this morning I couldn't find him. When I did he was upside down under a rock and barely breathing. I moved him into a QT tank where I can watch him better, but he is rapidly deteriorating. He will not swim, he has only move about 2 in. from 6-8 hours ago.I love this little guy so if anyone has any ideas what's going on, I would really appreciate the advice. He has no signs of disease or trauma, although his sides seem slightly sunk in.

Sorry to hear. I don't know what more you can do than what you've all ready done - remove him to a QT and give him a chance to recover.
You could also post under the Fish Disease forum to see if anyone suggests a treatment. But it's really hard to tell what he might have. The sunken in sides could indicate an internal parasite. But I don't know that he'd "crash" so suddenly from that.
Are any of the other fish in your 125 showing any signs of illness?

Unfortunately there is not a lot of help to give in a situation like this. Just make sure the QT is well aerated. Put an airstone / airpump in there and hope for the best. I hope he pulls through.

Is your quarantine tank established (cycled)? If not, then yes on the water changes. Otherwise, no. Make sure the quarantine tank is well aerated.
How long have you had this fish?
What else is in your 90?
How long has the tank been set up?
Has anything unusual happened as of late?

Did you dip/treat/check for flukes? I got a mimic lemonpeel mailorder a few months ago. I did a meth blue dip and there were HUNDREDS of flukes that fell off the fish. It was on the thin side, wasn't obviously parasite ridden before the dip. I lost it pretty quickly too, even after treatment with Prazipro.
Can I ask where you got your fish?

you know the weird thing happened to me too...twice. I love mimic lemonpeels but they don't seem to live long in my tank. I have a powder brown now and hes doing great...strange.

If still alive would treat with AP's Fluke Tabs per their directions. It won't affect bio-filter but will kill any invertebrates in contact with it. Only medication that has saved fish on their last breaths for me.
