HI all,
How hard is it to change the motors in them? Also where do I get a new motor, I emailed the company over a week ago and no answer yet. Thanks.

Jc,

It is usually around $60 - $70, I just had my 3/4" sea swirl worked on. I don't know if Sea Swirl will sell you the motor directly. I just sent mine in they replaced the motor and mailed the unit back to me.

You can also call Sea Swirl at:
Phone (843) 546-0431

You can find replacement motors here

I'm ordering a new motor from them for my 1/2 inch.

I am planning on getting mine running today so I will let you know what I think of it. I will be running 2 eventually but 1 needs repair. I will be putting a Y on my return line and running one on each side of the tank.

Thanks for the link eros, I sent mine back to seaswirl for updating and repairs, I wasn't too bad $150 to have both motors and updating of my two 1" models done. I am planning on run both of them off my return as well.

i was thinking about getting the 3/4 seaswirl wich israted up to 850gph, but my return pump is only 500gph so if i hook it up to my return will it not be able to push the 850gph?

No, But you could always add a new return pump or put it on a close loop with a pump that pushes more flow.
