I want to put a skimmer in the first chamber of my 24g JBJ Nano Cube.

I'm mostly interested in the Euro Reef NS 2.5-1, but I want to consider all my options before I get anything.

My criteria are:

Must fit in the first chamber without mods to the hood/tank.

Must be quiet. (The tank is right next to my couch)

Obviously, it must work fairly well too.

Thanks.

boo. i said no for skimmers on nano's... waste of money unless you wanna be lazy.

do weekly water changes to save you the dinero.

I'm lazy... I like my new Tunze 9002 but it's on a 20L open top tank... I dunno how it would fit in a Cube.

I know I can fit the Tunze, but I'd need to buy a special collection cup. That will be pricey.

Im setting up a JBJ 28 gal and am going to use the cpr aquafuge with the built in skimmer for it, just an idea.

I'm set on getting a skimmer in the first compartment without modding the hood.

Have you checked out the saphire skimmers? They make one specifically to fit in the back of the 24g nc (although, it may be meant for the middle chamber).

Saphhire skimmer is the best....

I would go with Sapphire Aquatics skimmer, it fits right in chamber 2 and no mods are needed. I don't think that nano tanks need a skimmer if you keep up with your water changes, but im lazy and like to feed my fish alot so i recomend one.

I think nano tanks only need skimmers if your going for an SPS nano. Because its much harder to achive a ULNS on a nano, I have the tunze 9002, and I still do 2 weekly 2.5g water changes.

Basically every 3-4 days, im doing a 2.5g - 3g waterchange + skimming 24/7.

Just my $0.02...

Good luck!
