I did it once... bad idea. Killed half my tank overnight. I had to do a 100% water change daily for three days to clear the tank.

Waste of time. If you have the need for Vodka dosing in a nano, your doing something very wrong.

I disagree with this statement...

I do agree that it is a waste of time though. The reason is to see results from vodka dosing takes months. Plus unless you are extremely diligent about dosing schedules and testing your levels, you will end up crashing your tank.

The results of vodka dosing are to get as close as possible to a ULNS, and for an SPS tank, that's ultimately what we strive for with our systems. But just because someone wants to start dosing vodka doesnt mean theyre doing 'something very wrong' as stated above.

the only reason I didnt start vodka dosing is that nano tanks are alot less unforgiving if a mistake was made. But like I said above, if spook8282 wants to try it and be 100% dedicated to testing and dosing why not. Give it a try. I just feel a larger tank would be better to try this on if its your first time trying this method.

Just my $0.02...

i was thinking about it but felt the dosing regimate was too much maintenance. i travel for work so it's something i can't manage. i've seen in person a few larger tanks that dose and they look fantastic. haven't seen any nano that dose vodka though.
