In the last couple of days my yellow leather has started to look a little sick. Any one know what this might be? My water params are great but I have switched to MH lighting last month. This guy is on the bottom of my 12gal with a 250W 15K bulb. Anyway hope this pic looks OK it's my 1st pic post!

Forgot to mention that the major concern besides it looking all closed up is that I'm seeing brown edges forming. You can see it on the upper left portion of the coral.

How long are you leaving the light on? MH Need's to be a gradual change especially if going from PC to MH start out only running the light for around 3 hours a day and SLOWLY!! work your way up otherwise you will bleach and potentially kill all of your coral....

It looks like the leather is developing some tissue damage, and probably a bit of a bacterial infection, possibly caused by an injury or bruising.

I'd start out by trying a coral dip (Seachem Reef Dip, or something similar), or applying a little dip on the damaged areas, and then dipping.

If that doesn't help, gently removing as much of the degrading tissue as possible with a toothbrush, or possibly even razor blade should help.

Be sure to provide good water flow afterwards either way.

When I moved my leatehr from T5s to Mh it got brown algae on it as well. I took the leather out of the tank, wiped off the algae, and out it back in the tank to the side and on the bottom. Later that day the polyps were out.

But like gh0st said you need to acclimate your corals to the new lighting. I kept all my corals on the very bottom of the tank in the sand and off tot he sides for a week and then I slowly moved them under the ligth and up the rocks.
