Can't decided on fish for my 34 gallon (Solana).
Already have a Gramma and clown goby.
Will probably be adding a pair of clowns eventually (when ever we find naked ones again).
Want one more fish, hopefully active (the clown goby is always hiding) and colorful.
I don't want to cover the tanks so wrasses are probably out. Any that don't carpet surf?
I think 34 g is too small for any angels.
I thinking I'm probably pretty limited at this point.
Any ideas?
I kind of like a canary blenny but not sure how it would be with the goby and if it swims around or kind of hides.

You could go with one of the pygmy angels. Flame, lemonpeel, coral beauty, cherub. I'd love to add one to my 30g, but my fridmani dottyback would probably beat the crap out of it. The only problem with angels is you never know if they're going to be coral nippers. Another choice would be chalk bass - 2 or 3 of them, very neat little fish.

Second on the pygmy angels. I have *heard* that Coral Beauties are the least likely to nip. Also, Bangaii Cardinals are pretty fish, not 'colorful' per se, but very distinctive and are supposed to be quite low maintenance.

Look into an African or Brazilian Flameback pygmy angel. They make for a nice show fish but be sure to add him last.

Well, we located naked clowns so I'm getting them tomorrow.
Looks like 2 clowns
clown goby
Royal Gramma
and one more fish in the future
Probably not any pygmy angels since I still think 34 gallons is on the small side for angels.
Thanks for the suggestions though

"Probably not any pygmy angels since I still think 34 gallons is on the small side for angels."
Well, most sites seem to say that a lot of pygmy angels can be kept in a 30gal+ tank, but if you are unsure, better safe then sorry! :)

I have a flame in a 75. I wouldn't keep him in anything smaller. I've also had a 140 with a Potter and Cherub so I'm familiar with them.
Maybe some of the smaller pygmies (redundant?) would be ok but looking at the tank (a solana) and knowing how angels are I can't do it.
Take all those recommendations with a grain of salt, just because they say its OK doesn't always mean it is. Doesn't help when one store say a 30 and another say a 55. Which one would you trust?
Kind of funny but the picture on the box has a yellow tang. Still think I'll pass on that though:lol:

No brainer - a black cap basslet. BEAUTIFUL fish and great for a small reef tank.
Can't get much prettier than a nice 6-line wrasse. I've had them off and on for years and never had one jump.

I would be careful with the gramma to be honest, they can be nasty.

+2 on the Midas Blenny. I have one in a 30 gallon and he is the star of the show, for sure!
