I was watching my two antennae gobies tonight during feeding, and I noticed one didn't look quite "right." So upon closer inspection, I noticed he had "fuzz" all over his face! My first thought was it was some kind of fungus, but I couldn't imagine that being it. I've had this pair in my 20ga with a pistol shrimp for several years! They're the only inhabitants.

I looked even closer...he was still eating, and realized it looked like porcupine quills. I have touched bristle worms before and they left the same kind of fuzz in my finger!

So my question is...did he try to eat one? I do have them in the tank, little ones. Did one maybe try to go in the burrow and he removed it, and really, is there anything I can even do? Will the bristles fall out over time or is this poor guy doomed?

And has anyone else ever seen this happen? Thanks for any advice/help!

As long as he's eating it should be fine.
