Im looking at feeding my new saltwater mix container into my main return line and placeing a valve in the return line right before the water change container and placing a valve in the water change line.
When I shut my main pump off the sump will fill up with 55 gallons of water and I drain the sump and turn the valve off on the return line before the water change comtainer and turn the valve on to the water change container, I will then turn on my main pump and this will pull water from the water change container untill the sump fills to its proper level. At this point I will turn my pump off and switch the valves back to original position and 55 gallons will have been changed.
Anyone use or seen a system like this setup?
Thanks!

Sure, its helpful when doing water changes.

I find that a lot of junk builds up in the sump and like to give it a vacuum here and there with a python. For normal water changes I have a dual head peristaltic pump. One head pumps a metered amount of water to a drain while the other one pumps the same metered amount from my salt vat into the tank so I don't have to do much but fill and mix the vat once a month.
