Hi guys, really need your advice. I have a tank filled with saltwater and live rock. No fish, no circulation nothing. I intend to cook and reuse the life rocks. However to my dismay, the protective case of my magnet cleaner came off and expose the metal to the saltwater.

I have no idea how long has this magnet being exposed to the saltwater as i travel most of the time. it can be months.

Can i still reuse the live rocks? erh. i mean dead rocks.

Please advise. Thank you

I doubt there is any brass or other copper based metal in the cleaner. While it surely depends on the materials used, I'd assume that it's either aluminum (unlikely, if it's a magnet) or an iron based metal (most credible), in which case I wouldnt be worried about using the rocks again.

Just remove the magnet and do a water change. The rock will be fine.

Consider it free Phosphate remover.

You will be fine.

which metals are those? lead? plutonium? unlikely that it was made of anything that's a health concern to fish (or inverts, which is what you should be more concerned about).
