 Got home yesterday evening around 9:00pm & noticed my tank didn't look just right. Then it hit me. when doing water change from evening before I had turned off cooling fan that comes on when M/H does. I glanced @ temp. display on side & it read 88deg F. :eek1: tank never gets above 81 deg even in summer. I immediately turned off lights & this morning tank was at 82. Everything seems fine, I have some zoa's, clam, mushrooms, orange cap, & a sebae anemone with a pair of occellaris clowns. the only thing I noticed was two patches of cyano came out of nowhere, I'm assuming from the elevated
temperature.

I cant speak for the clam as I have never had one but everything else should be fine. Ive had my tank hit 90 before, Its not a good thing but if only for a short period youll be alright.

that's good to hear. I was really concerned.
Keep an eye on things, but most likely if things are fine now they'll continue that way.

really makes me mad to do stuff like that. 100% my fault.

My 30g experienced both 90F temperatures as well as 65F, neither resulted in losses.

they key is to let the heat disipate slowly or to raise the temp slowly. Fast changes are where you will get your losses.
Sounds like you did it the right way
