i have the octo ext 200 and i keep getting grinding / rattling noises in the pump. I did the sanding down thing. nothing helps. i took it off, took it apart.. reconnected it and the noise begins again.

any ideas?

Make sure the bottom fitting that holds the impeller in the back of the pump is in place. Also you have to make sure the inside of the pin wheel is completely smooth and rotates freely on the magnet. The outer shell of some of the wheels also needs to be sanded down due to them rubbing against the side of the inner pump housing, if this is the case you will likely see rub marks on the inside of pump.

Intermitted, rattling noise..? Does lead you to think a bushing problem..
I know someone that ran their pump with out the front bushing for a few days! ( yours , small red bushing, behind the rotor..
(just tagging along, i may learn something ;) )
