i finished the third treatment with furan 2 (zoas had zoa pox) and i still see some zoa pox on the zoas, will it take some more time for them to go away? i know i'm supposed to wait a week before resuming treatment. i'm just wondering if this does mean i'll have to continue treatment in a week, or whether it just takes a little time for them to fully heal from the pox even though the first set of treatment is over? thanks!

I did a 6 week reginment. Dip 1 week, rest 1 week and so on. Try Vitamin C from puffers thread. It helped cure a large frag that had lots of pox, went a way 100% now in a couple weeks with out furan2 or dipping.

i am adding vc to the tank, the zoa pox are recent, so should they be gone in a few weeks if i continue with the vc? thanks

It did for me. I'm actually about to start the VitaC but mix it with Furan on some new frags that I got it that had a bunch of POX. It should take a couple of weeks. This time I placed them in my frag tank since all my current polyps in the main tank are now prestine.

k good to know, so i guess i just have to be patient. also, how do i know if the vc is still potent (not sure if that's the right word). it's a new bottle (few months old) but i'm noticing a smell that wasn't there before when i open the bottle, from what i can remember.

I dosed VC at 100ppm for great results. All pox gone in 1 week, with only 2 dips of Furan.

Make sure your temperature is dead stable and your other params like salinity and pH are very stable. In my experience the easiest cure is to bring your temp up to a spot you can keep it at consistently and leave it be (say 78). Temperature seems to be at the root of this in all the cases I have seen.

Paul my temp is very stable, i've got a chiller. i'm slowly working my way up to the right dosage of vc. so a jump that high to 100ppm is ok even for a 40g? i'm currently at around 10ppm. thanks guys

I am keeping very expensive frags in my frag tank & generally dose ~100ppm (1/4 tsp/15g).
