View Full Version : Is this healthy for a fish

I have a couple quick questions about green (the common ones) chromis.

1. Are they jumpers? My coris wrasse jumped out of my tank, and I don't want another fish to do that :(

2. What would happen if I kept just one in my tank? I know most people like to keep multiple Chromis in their tanks, but what normally ends up happening is the Chromis fight, until only one is left; this is my reasoning for keeping just one. Would it be healthy for a normally schooling fish [in the wild] to be kept by itself?

Thanks!

Chromis arent known to jump... Wrasses are.

it would be fine for 1 chromis.

I dont believe chromis are classified as jumpers. IMO any fish that is spooked can jump though.

You can keep just one as long as your tank is big enough.

I never had a chromis jump. I've kept just one, they are a pretty little fish.

Mine is a single chromis and when he gets spooked he dives for the rocks.. i have never seen him attempt to jump but my tank also has a glass top
