So I have a bit of an issue. One of the LFS had a Euroreef RS-180 on consignment for $300. So I sold my CS 6-2 for $250. $50 upgrade right? Well I got it home and the pump is seized up. I took it back and they said it was the magnet on the impeller and they would either buy a new one for me at cost or give me my money back. I am little leery of paying another $40 and not knowing if the old magnet did any damage to the inside of the pump. So I am leaning toward taking my money back. But that leaves me skimmerless. So I have been looking. I am wondering if any of you have any experience with the Octopus Extreme Skimmer model 160, The ASM G-3, or the AquaEuro PS250? I am particularly curious about the AquaEuro.

I think the octopus extreme 200 would do a better job for you in that price range.

Second on the octopus extreme. Better skimmer for the $$

I have an RS180 although it does a fine job skimming, I really thought it shoud do more. For what I paid for it can't complain but I would not recomend one knowing that the pump may potentially need replacement.

Gabriel I think the MSX 200 would be a good match.

What about the Gen II Vertex 250? I had that one highly recommended by a friend that does maintenance.

msx 200 is still a better choice I agree with GSMguy

cant go wrong with the msx 200, i love mine. the aquareuro skimmers aren't all that great, but they do skim, just not as efficient at the octo/msx extreme. asm skimmers arent bad, just dated technology. their pumps use alot more electricity and there is not bubble plate if i remember correctly.
