The M135 is a pulse start ballast and I'm sure it would fire the bulb with no problem but the bulb was designed for an M80 ballast so it will not burn as it was designed to.

I'm assuming 250w as the M58 and M138 are 250w ballasts.

http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2007-03/sj/index.php

"Radium Blue/20,000K M80/HQI PULSE

Note HQI refers to high lamp current European specification. Operating it on a standard American pulse start (ANSI M138/M153) ballast will reduce its output and may cause color shift."

This is why I went with a Galaxy Electronic ballast.

Thanx for all the input and the link dots.I was originally going to go with a M138 or coralvue dimmable ballast, with reeflux 20K.The more I read about the 20K the more im leaning towards radiums and the galaxy elec.ballst My current setup is a M58 with 12K reeflux.I love the color but always looking for a little more.Besides I think I got the go ahead from the boss.(WIFE)

THANX again
