Wow was I ever amazed today when I tested my dKH!!
I have a 29 Bio.
I have always had low Ca. I have a few tanks and I like setting up my tanks with Ca Reactors and Auto Top off. The other day I put a Ca reactor on. My Mg was low, about 1000 and my Ca was about 340. At the time my dKH was about 11.
Things were going well and I was getting my Ca up to 400. My Mg was up to 1100. and my dKH was stable.
I had a little drop in my PH as I aways do at nights. (no room for a refuge on this tank) So I decided to put Kalk in the tank to keep my PH balanced.
To many things at one time!!
After the Kalk, my dKH is now over 16!!! My PH is about 8.1 but, Ca at 432 and Mg at 1260.
How do I get my dKH down? I suspect the Kalk cause this problem.
