Yellow Fiji Leather not opening since switching lighting from old PC's to new T5's. Only running lights 4-5 hrs a day while acclimating corals to new lighting. And advise.

Acclimating corals. Key words there my man. It should come around. Just shocked. Keep upping the light. :)

IMHO having a shorter photo period doesn't do anything (or much anyways) because the intensity of the light new lights is the same, regardless of whether or not they have been on for 3 hours, or for 8 hours. If your fixture is suspended above your tank, I would raise it up higher, and lower it a couple inches at a time every couple days. If your T-5's are sitting on brackets on your tank, I'd recommend using some sort of light diffusor ;i.e. metal window screens, or plastic eggcrate. You can layer these accordingly, and remove the layers slowly in incriments. HTH! :)
