Other than some hermits, what are some happy crabs to have in a reef/fish tank?

For the most part emeralds are safe. I personally wouldn't trust many others.

Some people say they have issues with them. I have had probably a dozen over the years and never had any issues with them.

Acros, Emeralds, Pom Poms, and pocillopora are all considered reef safe. Ive only dealt with emeralds, never any problems.

I have decided in my new tank to not have hermits (so they won't kill the snails for the shells). I only have emeralds now-I shouldn't have any problems keeping them fed.

I like porcelain crabs, completely reef safe as they're mostly filter feeders. I'd recommend one especially if you have an anemone, as they will be hosted (assuming you don't have something else being hosted already).

We've never had any problems with sally lightfoot and arrow crabs. Although I'm sure others will differ.
