I thought that's a cool fish, feeding well, should get along with all his tankmates, here's your $40.

A couple of hours later, in he goes, to my heavily live rock filled 160 gal, a brief swim around and disappears into some dark corner, never to be seen again. Or so I thought!

Seventeen days later, the wife wrote him off after a week, here I am watching American Idol and holding my 4 month old son, when I catch a flash of magenta move across one of the many caves in my tank. Sure enough, enticed by a little flake food, Mr casual swims back into the picture, like nothing had happened, I nearly dropped the baby!

That was quite an acclimation period, but he seamed none the worse for wear. I swear I had walked around the tank stand and searched every dark nook and cranny, in and out of the tank, with a flashlight on more than one occaison. Just goes to show you, how resilient those little fish are.

Very cool story. I have a Black Capped Basslet as well. My guy was shy at the beginning, but now, he is out in the open. They add great colors to the tank. Congrats!!!

yeah, they are cool fish.

Mine hid completely for over a month and it took him 6-8 weeks to not be scared of people in the room...............
