Has anyone here mixed multiple species of Chromis in their tank? How did it go? I am particularly interested in mixing Chromis viridis with Chromis cyaneus. Thanks!

I had some chromis retrofasciata with a couple of viridis
they wouldn't ''chill'' together and were very peaceful to one another
The retrofasciata are the best chromis imo plus I find them cool as well
I would say it would be the same for the cyanea exept maybe for the color similarities with the viridis which might cause problems other than that i'd say its ok maybe you should wait for the others to confirm

Thanks very much for the reply. I don't expect it to be a problem, but always best to check. Anyone else?

I have never kept chromis because I don't want to waste biocapacity on a fish that is not interesting to me. That being said, I think it is unlikely to be a problem.

Thanks for the reply. :)

I felt that way about Chromis spp. for a long time. This tank is actually the first time I have had Chromis in over 15 years of keeping marine tanks. However, I have been very surprised to find that I like them quite a lot. I always thought of them as plain and their behavior boring, but I have found them quite interesting and feel they have a subtle beauty that I did not previously appreciate.

Gwin, I agree with you. Many of the damsels actually have exquisite beauty when viewed closely. They almost have a jewel-like quality and are underrated. Chromis and many of the Chrysiptera spp. are beautiful and quite peacefull too.
