View Full Version : Picky eAter what should i do?
i currently have an emperor in Qt right now. When i first got him he ate almost everything until he got ich. So i added copper and furan 2 he started eating again but being very picky wiht his foods. He would he something for 2 days but would stop eating it and move onto something else. Now seems liek hes tired of eating everything i feed him pellets, flakes, nori, mysis, brine. What should i do? Should i starve him for a day or two and see what happens? But if he eats he eats alot. Ich seems to be gone for now. Thanks

Copper has been known to reduce/completly stop a fishes wanting to eat. I believe RECTY had the same issue when he recieved his B-E-A-UTIFUL Emperor

I never knew that about copper. Thx.
I wouldn't stop trying to feed. I think that would be the worse thing you could do. Just keep a look out for ammonia.
He eats but very picky would eat a large ammount of one food one day and stop eating it the next day
Any angelfish experts please help what should I try feeding him now?anyone experienced this befor

I often use Garlic Xtreme to entice fish to eat while in QT
i have tried that too no luck. Should i remove the copper and try feeding him?

How far along into the copper treatment are you. If you only have a few days to go , I see no reason to abort the treatment. Finish the ICK treatment, and then remove the copper. Once the water chemistry is back to normal, he should start eating normally.
But, it is a good sign that he is eating something.

yea i only got a couple of days to go. I'm also thinking he might have an infection of some sort. Seems like after my furan 2 treatment for six days he stopped eating right after i stopped dosing furan 2. could that just be a coincidence? His poop seems fine when he was eating but now a little stringy after not eating for 2-3 days. Also forgot to mention that he puked out the food the ate the night before a couple of days ago. I never seen a fish puke before!
