Hello,

Just a quick question on the curing of live rock. I just received a shipment of live from you guys a couple of weeks ago. The rock by the way looks great! I know that the rock was "cured" before it left your facility. I know that it probably went through a "die off" period on arrival to my home. My question is that when you put the rock in to cycle your tank, is it necessary to put a shrimp in also to start the ammonia cycle?

Thanks much!

ScarFish,

Thank you for your post and recent order with Drs. Foster and Smith’s LiveAquaria. There is no need to use anything to begin the ammonia cycle with your live rock, as the die off as well as the bacteria that is already on the rock will start the cycle for you. Please feel free to contact us if you happen to have any other questions.

Sandy,

Thanks much for the quick response! I was a little unsure about that, but you guys cleared that up for me. Am now in the second week of curing and hopefully will be done soon.
