G'day

I've been noticing something a little strange on my few acropora colonies in my 4' reef. Two colonies have started getting a slight green tinge to their flesh, starting at the base. The flesh still look healthy and the areas have good PE. Around the edge of the flesh at the base, there flesh has become almost white, but again still looks like its thick and healthy with PE.

Parameters are all within range:

Ca: 450
KH: 9deg
Mg: 1200
P04: 0.01
N03: 0
Salinity: 1.028 (a touch high)

Flow is approx 50x turnover with tunze stream pumps.

Has anyone had experience with this behavior?

Thanks

Jamie

Maybe the description is enough for others...but myself for I'm not quite sure what you mean request you post some pictures of this.
It might be relative to the "type" of acropora that's doing the behavior.
Which I think a photo might also help if you have access to a camera. Doesn't have to be digital SLR, but a steady hand with some point and shoot or a video camera with still shot capabilty might do the trick.

I have seen this in my frag tank {using T5's} and when the pieces move to my main display {250 Radiums} the green goes away within a week.

I also just changed out all of my T5 bulbs two weeks ago and the green seems to be going away.

Based on the little info, my guess is low PAR.
