Going barebottom so I really need to get ditritus up and suspended so that skimmer can pull it out. Will two 6101 give me enough flow if I run them full speed? tank dim. 48x24x24

Thanks in advance for your help!

The flow is ok but not STRONG. My friend 120g has 2 6101, 1 6045, 1 6085 and a wavebox.

what about getting one MP40w Gen 2. I need strong flow but can only afford about $500 bucks. I can get 2 tunze 6101,6100 and controller OR 1 vortec for a little less.

On this budget how can I get the most flow for the money.

I was also thinking of putting a mag 5.7 in back of tank and plumb some hole drilled pvc to blow under rock. Rock would be on egg crate 1" above bottom and mag can blow all ditritus off bottom to suspend it for skimmer.

Anyways any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks

two of the Tunzes is much more flow than the Vortec. In terms of gph the Vortec is equal to one of those Tunze pumps listed at full speed but the Vortecs flow is more spreadout and "slower"

1 6105 would be enough to get started, it would be ideal to have a pump on the other side but it is not critical. You could add a second and a controller when your budget allows. The 6105 is the newest version and has the advantage of being able to swivel in all directions.

thanks for that. But will 2 6100 with 7095 controller give me enough flow for a barebottom to suspend ditritus for skimmer removal?

I also have two new Koralia 4 (but these are not what I expected as far as flow:( almost thinking of sending those back and getting a third used 6101 or 6100..

Please let me know
Thanks

In general yes, but there may be some areas around rocks that don't get enough current.

I have (2) 6105's, a 6045, and a 6025 in my 5' long barebottom 120 gallon and I am more than pleased.
