Phosphate problem

I have the Optima CA unit. I am getting 2.0 - 3.0 readings on phosphate before the RODI and coming out is at 1.0. Would it help add another DI unit to this system? I seen on your website you have a single and a dual add-on. Considering my level of phosphate problem, which would you say I should get or is there something else I need to do? Thanks.

I just did some further testing and think I found my problem but need some help on correcting it. Water going in test at 2.0 - 3.0, water coming out my drinking faucet I mounted on the sink is 0, and the water going ot the aquarium is 1.0. Is there a diagram for the CA unit I can look out to make sure my hoses aren't swapped somewhere?

I verified all hoses are correct. Water coming out of the membrane before the DI is reading 0 phophates. Water reading 0 phosphates going into the DI is coming out with a reading of 1.0. I guess it might be time to replace the DI. The bottom 3 inches is brown and the top is still blue. Is it possible that the DI is leaching built up phosphates?

That could be a possibility especially if you have very high phosphates coming in...color changing resin is usually a good gauge, now if it has hit a saturation point with the phosphates it still may be taking other things out, just not phosphates? I dont remember if it can leach it back into the water but it does seem like it by your tests.
How long has the DI been in use?


I would go with the new DI.

The only thing that baffles me is the fact there are 0 phosphates going into the DI. So I can't understand how it got a build up in it. The filters are approxiimately 1 year old. I changed all filters at that time except the membrane. I make approx 10 gallons a day with this unit.
