My 24G Aquapod developed a bad case of Green Hair Algae. I happened to be at my LFS this past Saturday. They had a Sea Hare and recommended I take it home to get rid of the Algae. Get this - less the 48 hours later - ALL THE ALGAE is gone!. He sure had a bunch of excrement (vacuumed this up a few times in the 2 days he has been in the tank).
I am placing the Sea Hare into my 14G biocube and after he does his magic in that tank - the pet store has agreed to take him back and give me a $10.00 credit. So for $10.00, all of my algae is gone.

From what i can see - this is a super way to periodically maintain Algae control.

I am told though that since they require vast amounts of green food - after the Algae is gone - it is important to get rid of the Sea hare!

Right.

The real test will come when the sea hare is gone. See if the nutrient problem that's been fueling the hair algae is still there.

No doubt. Better find the nutrient source and go from there.
