Pitting in aluminum reflectors

I am buying a used T5 fixture and the party who is selling told me there is some minor pitting. My question is there anyway to remove the pitting?

Only by polishing the metal, corrosion causes the pitting, so the metal is eaten away, so re polishing may not remove it all, and at best, will never be "new" again depending on how deep the pitting is. Saltwater + aluminum = fairly quick deep pitting.
