MSX Mini cone S or MSX200

Im setting up a 90g and just want to hear people's advice on which skimmer to buy. Im really loving the mini cone but is the performance that much better than say a msx200? There is a big price difference between the two. 200bux to be exact. The cone runs a sicce 2500, does the 200 run the same pump? Not sure. Thanks for your help.

Both of those skimmers use the same pump. It all comes down to price with those two choices, as either one would do the job. I have a msx 250 on my system and I love it. That being said, if I had the extra dollars I would have the msx 2s cone skimmer or the askoll.

Well thanks for the reply. At least you posted a answer instead of just lookin. Im most likely goin with the cone, just to be able to say i have a cone. Im sure id be happy either way i go but what the hell right.

i talked to a dealer who said the cone skimmers arent any better then their regular skimmer brothers. but they will make them as long as people want them. and pay the price.

Get a huge cone with the askoll pump, that way if you decide to try a different body, you will have one bad *** pump to play with.

The cone skimmers have way less turbulance inside the skimmer body allowing a much lower water level inside the skimmer body and more contact time, as opposed to the regular designs
